Locally owned since 2014.
Isabella Urgent Care was founded in December 2014 as an independent walk-in clinic for Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding Isabella County community. We sit on East Bluegrass Road, just off US-127 and a short drive from the Central Michigan University campus — close enough that students, staff, and families can walk in without an appointment and still be back to their day.
We are not part of a hospital system. That is deliberate. We chose the walk-in model because so many of the things people actually need same-day care for — a cough that won’t quit, a sprained ankle before the weekend, a DOT physical on short notice, stitches after a kitchen accident — are not emergencies. They’re just urgent. The ER is expensive, slow, and designed for life-threatening situations. We’re designed for everything else.
What that means, practically
The clinic is owned and operated by local clinicians and staff. Decisions about how we practice, what we charge for self-pay, which insurance we accept, and what hours we hold — those are made by the same people you see when you walk in. Not by a corporate office in another state.
Who you’ll see
Board-certified physicians and physician assistants with emergency-medicine experience, plus a front-desk and medical-assistant team that lives in Mt. Pleasant. We update the provider roster as the practice evolves — ask at your visit if you want to know who is on shift.
